Welcome
My knowledge of technology integration has increased significantly over the course of my academic journey. As a result of rigorous graduate courses such as Digital Age Teaching & Learning, I recognize the priceless benefits of utilizing technology in today’s classrooms. Incorporating devices and programs with which students are accustomed enables teachers to enliven subject matter and present information in a relevant, relatable, and exciting manner. Digital tools facilitate a level of engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration that is simply not possible with traditional methods. Designing my own technology-based projects provided me with firsthand experience of technological tools and their educational functions. These experiences equipped me with practical knowledge of the procedures and techniques associated with technology integration.
Completing numerous technology-related assignments helped me realize and appreciate the various means by which digital tools can foster learning, kindle curiosity, and enhance course content. One item in this portfolio of which I am particularly proud is the ISTE Standards-T Chat Assignment located on the webpage titled Technology Integration. This product displays my abilities to collaborate with colleagues, analyze information, and summarize crucial concepts. A second item of which I am proud is the Technology Integration Lesson Plan, which can also be found on the Technology Integration webpage. This activity demonstrates my ability to develop coherent lesson plans with multiple forms of technology specifically selected to enhance subject matter and promote SOL Standards. I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong process that should continue well after graduation. Accordingly, I plan to continue learning by sampling new forms of technology and exploring the educational potentials of various programs. I will access scholarly research and consult my colleagues while inquiring which technology integration strategies prove most useful.
